About College:

Tagore  Engineering  College  (TEC)   affiliated   to   Anna University,  Chennai   was   founded    by   the  Tagore Educational Trust, a non-profit organization, in the year 1998. The campus is spread over an area  of 45  acres   of  land, located in a busy and fast developing Vandalur – Kelambakkam road. It is  well connected  to  arterial  roads of the city. It  is currently offering seven  undergraduate  programs and  four  post  graduate  programs. The courses offered are approved by AICTE and TEC is accredited by NAAC with “A” grade. TEC also has been awarded with campus SWACCHATA by Rethink India.

About the Departments:

The  department  of  Aeronautical  Engineering  offers  UG course while  Civil &  Mechanical Engineering departments  offer UG  &  PG courses. Both Aeronautical  & Mechanical  Engineering  departments  were conferred by  Staffordshire University,UK  for excellent teaching in engineering. Department of Aeronautical Engineering is known  for  securing University ranks consistently which includes  Gold Medal in 2014.  Departments  have  state  of art  laboratories to enhance practical skills of

students   and   also   carry   out   R & D   activities.  Aeronautical  Engg  Dept.  has  successfully  completed  projects  worth of   50 lakhs  funded  by  Ministry  of  Defence, Govt. of India. Department of  Mechanical  Engineering  is  recognized  research  centre of Anna University and has successfully carried out  R & D projects sponsored by DRDO, TNSCT, NRB, UGC, AICTE  etc. with a total grant of  `80 lakhs Department of  Civil  Engineering  ensures  placement  for  the  students in premier companieslike  L & T,  ERA  group,  Fomra  Housing, Godrej, CADEPLOY,  etc.  Also  department  has  successfully  completed   projects  worth of  `26.5 lakhs  funded  by DST, Govt. of India and U.S. Common Grants Program.

About  the Conference:

The  Aeronautical,  Civil  and   Mechanical   departments successfully  conducted  the 1st  International Conference on  Engineering   Materials   and   Processes   (ICEMAP – 2013)   on   23rd  &  24th   May,   2013. More than  400  papers were   submitted  to  the  conference   and  the  best  papers  presented  were  published   in reputed International journals.


Owing  to  enormous  participation &  success,  we  were  encouraged  to  organise  2nd  edition of the conference. ICEMAP – 2017  is  aimed  with  the pertaining  themes  from advances in materials technology and processes for materials  to shape in to  redundant structures.
